When choosing a threshold ramp for a door situated in the corner of a room, give an extra thought to accessibility.
If a ramp without corners is chosen, then traversal of the ramp will always require the user to take a head-on approach. This can be a problem, especially if the doorway is to or from a room with limited space or many furnishings. This type of ramp will usually always force the user or helper to 'take a detour' e.g. around a table in the room, to be able to approach the ramp from the head-on direction. This type of solution is far from convenient.
If the threshold ramp is fitted with corner ramps, accessibility is considerably improved. It is now possible for the user or helpers to access the ramp from all angles.
A corner ramp component for use with a threshold ramp costs only approx. € 2.50 but provides substantial benefit to the user.
Excellent Systems always recommend the use of corner ramps on threshold ramp solutions, space and situation permitting.
