A threshold ramp with empty spaces at the sides. An unsatisfactory solution.
A threshold ramp with empty spaces at the sides. An unsatisfactory solution.

Threshold ramps for doors in recesses or alcoves will usually be fitted without corner ramps. Ther are, however, several factors that need to considered when choosing the ramp solution.

It is of utmost importance that a threshold ramp placed in front of a deep-set door doesn't have empty spaces on either side of the ramp. Partly because these spaces will trap/catch wheelchair wheels, rollator wheels and other walking aids, but also because dust and dirt will naturally accumulate in them.

An Excellent Systems threshold ramp solution can be perfectly fitted to the entire door and recess area, thereby avoiding empty spaces at the sides of the ramp.

This provides the highest level of safety and ease of use for the user and/or healthcare personnel and is at the same time an aesthetically pleasing solution with a good overall impression.
